Meet Chelsea

Chelsea is the creative force behind The Sweeter Magnolia, bringing together landscape design, outdoor living, florals, styling, and a love for spaces that feel collected rather than contrived.

She believes the best outdoor spaces should do more than look beautiful. They should invite people to gather, linger, celebrate, and actually live in them.

The Sweeter Side of Magnolia’s Landscape & Design

In 2019, Adrian and Chelsea started Magnolia’s Landscape & Design in Lexington, Kentucky.

Adrian handled the landscaping and installations. Chelsea handled the design. And somewhere along the way, the creative side of the business started becoming something of its own.

Chelsea grew up near the coast in California, where sunshine, flowers, and little roadside stands were part of everyday life. She always loved the charm of being able to stop somewhere beautiful and leave with a bundle of fresh flowers in your hands.

In 2024, that memory turned into one of Chelsea’s ideas.

She bought an old 1980s horse trailer with plans to turn it into a Kentucky version of the flower stands she remembered from home.

For a while, it sat.

Life got busy. The idea lost some momentum. And that little trailer looked a lot more like a rusty project than the beginning of anything special.

Then Adrian pushed her to finish what she had started.

Chelsea sketched out what she wanted it to become. Adrian gathered a few friends, some power tools, and an unreasonable amount of Rust-Oleum.

Together, they transformed that old horse trailer into The Sweeter Magnolia Flower Trailer.

And that’s where Sweeter Magnolia really began.

What started with flowers grew into a much bigger creative vision: designing outdoor spaces that feel beautiful, intentional, and deeply personal.

Today, The Sweeter Magnolia focuses on outdoor living design, gardens, hospitality spaces, and memorable environments that feel like a natural extension of the people and places they belong to.

From layered landscapes and outdoor entertaining spaces to vacation properties and thoughtful design details, every project is approached with the same idea that started it all:

Life feels a little sweeter when the spaces around you feel special.
